Data Deletion
You can have the information we hold about you deleted. This page explains how to ask, how we confirm it is really you, exactly what is removed, what necessarily stays behind, and how long it takes.
1. How to make a request

with the subject line Delete my data.
In the email, tell us which of these applies:
- You messaged or commented on Instagram. Give us the Instagram account you used. We do not receive your username from Instagram, so we cannot look you up by it — see verification below.
- You unlocked a content bundle on the website. Give us the email address you used. That is enough to identify the record.
2. How we verify it is you
We have to be sure, because deleting the wrong person's data is itself a privacy failure and it cannot be undone.
- Instagram requests. We will reply with a short one-time phrase and ask you to send exactly that phrase as a direct message to our Instagram account, from the account you want deleted. Because the message arrives through Instagram, it proves control of that account without either of us sharing anything else. Once we see it, we can act.
- Website requests. We verify by email: we send a confirmation link to the address on the record, and the deletion runs when you click it.
3. What gets deleted
Your data is encrypted under a key that belongs only to you. Deletion destroys that key, which makes everything encrypted under it permanently unreadable, and then clears the records that point at you. Specifically:
- The content of your direct messages and comments becomes permanently unreadable.
- Your stored Instagram identifier becomes permanently unreadable, and the stored copy is cleared.
- Any reply we had prepared for you is removed.
- Any follower-check result recorded against you is removed.
- Identifiers linking us to messages we sent you are removed.
- The pseudonym connecting our records to you is destroyed and replaced with a random value, so a future message from you starts fresh rather than rejoining your old history.
- If you also unlocked a bundle with an email address, that subscriber record is marked for deletion and permanently removed within 30 days, along with your bundle access and any active sessions.
4. What remains, and why
We keep a small set of append-only security records. These exist so that neither we nor anyone else can quietly rewrite the history of what the system did, which is a protection for you as much as for us. They are deliberately built so they cannot identify you.
These records contain no message content, no username, no Instagram identifier, no email address, and no IP address. What they hold is internal row references, the outcome of an action, timestamps, and keyed digests. A keyed digest cannot be worked backwards into the original text, and after deletion there is no key left that could reconnect any of it to you.
We also write one record proving your deletion happened. It identifies the request only by a one-way digest, so it can prove the erasure ran without pointing back at you.
Being straight with you about backups: our database provider keeps point-in-time snapshots for disaster recovery. We do not use them to restore deleted data, and they age out on the provider's own retention schedule. Until they do, a snapshot taken before your deletion still physically exists.
5. How long it takes
Verified requests are completed within 30 days, usually much sooner — typically within a few days of us receiving your confirmation. We will email you when it is done.
Separately, and regardless of whether you ask: message and comment content is automatically made permanently unreadable 30 days after we receive it. That runs on a daily schedule. If your messages are already older than 30 days, their content is already gone.
6. If you use Instagram's own tools
Instagram is operated by Meta, and deleting your Instagram account or removing our access there is handled by Meta, not by us. Doing that stops new information reaching us, but it does not by itself delete what we already hold — for that, email us as described above.

7. If something goes wrong
If you do not hear back from us within a few working days, email again and say it is a follow-up — mail does occasionally go astray. If you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, tell us and we will look at it again.
